What is Segregation?

Segregation is the isolation of groups with different characteristics than the main group being isolated for the reason of their differences. Examples of segregation in humans are found in 'The Help' and 'To kill a Mocking Bird', but this could also happened between large groups of animals, like when weak offspring are left to die.
