Face North and point your arm straight up. That is 90. When you move it down, keeping it straight, in front of you until halfway between straight up and the horizon, that is 45 degrees. Down about one fourth the remaining distance and you should see it. Pensacola, Florida lies at a latitude of 30 degrees north, the Polaris is 30 degrees above the horizon.
