note that [tex]\sqrt[4]{9}[/tex] = [tex]9^{\frac{1}{4} }[/tex]

and all raised to the power [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex] x

multiply [tex]\frac{1}{4}[/tex] × [tex]\frac{1}{2}[/tex] x = [tex]\frac{1}{8}[/tex] x
