In South Africa, three high-priority initiatives were identified in order to address Rights of the African people living with HIV and AIDS, such as:
- Changing male norms, roles and behaviors.
- Responding to gender-based violence by offering access to health care and treatment services for sexual violence victims.
- Addressing juvenile vulnerability by educating young girls and women and preventing HIV among orphaned teenage girls.
