Plato, indeed, believed that the soul underwent processes of reincarnation and that the soul, in an other form, had previously been in touch or communion with the world of Ideas and Truth. Therefore, when the soul is imbued with a bodily form, the soul may, through reminiscence, gain access once more to the eternal realm of Ideas, away from the transient objects of sensibility.
