Answer: x =5 , y = 1

y = x - 4 ................. equation 1

y = -x + 6 ................. equation 2

Equating the two equations , we have

x - 4 = -x + 6

x + x = 6 + 4

2x = 10

x = 5

substitute x = 5 into equation 1

y = 5 - 4

y = 1

Therefore , the solution to the system of equations is ( 5 , 1 )
