Point-slope form:  y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

(m is the slope, (x₁ , y₁) is the point you are given that is on the line)

For lines to be parallel, they need to have the same slope.

y + 4 = 4(x - 2)      The slope is 4, so the parallel line's slope is also 4.

Now that you know the slope, substitute/plug it into the equation.

y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)

y - y₁ = 4(x - x₁)    Plug in the point (3, 4) into the equation

y - 4 = 4(x - 3)
