Because the greatest impact of the silk road was that while it allowed luxury goods like silver ,silk etc to travel from one end and another information were also exchanged

Yes it carried goods and information, but it also carried religions, ideas, diseases, etc. because the Mongols looked over it, it was relatively safe and thats why a lot of people used it to transfer their luxury goods and other things. It was a major trade route and without it, things surely would’ve been different.
