What he’s trying to say for number one is that he was trying to inspire Washington’s Troops and make them to fight for America . The second one is by explaining that he made it look like that if the soldiers didn’t fight they would leave America not a free state and that they would be hero’s and legends protecting their country and the last one explains that you make a type of clone to what Thomas Paine said in his book :)
