Prince Henry a.k.a the navigator was a central figure in the early days of Portuguese. Because of prince Henry Portuguese explorers were the first to sail to Africa’s Gambia River and during this time they accumulated a lot of knowledge about navigation and the geography of the Atlantic Ocean.
