x=2 Combine like terms and

Subtract  5x5x  from both sides of the equation and Simplify and Divide both sides of the equation by the same factor

Combine like terms to make it 8x= 5x +6. Subtract 5x on both sides and you get 3x =6. So x=2, which would make 3x =6
