Can someone simplify this expression? 14y – 5(3 – 2y) and explain how you got it.

you first expand the brackets so 
14y-15-10y 
then you put the like terms together  so you do 14y-10y= 4y
4y-15 which is the answer

Distribute what's in the parenthesis
14y-  (15+10y)
Combine like terms
