Hyperbole is basically over exaggeration. She won't actually die from embarrassment, the writer just tells us this to show us how embarrassed she is.

If it was a simile we would be comparing 2 objects, which we aren't, and no word is repeated in this sentence, ruling out repetition. I've temporarily forgotten what Parallelism is but it's definitely not this. I'm 100% sure it's hyperbole.
