-5x+3y=-6
9x-4y=1
try adding them together and get
9x-5x+3x-4y=1-6
4x-y=-5
multiply the equation by 3
12x-3y=-15
add this euation to -5x+3y=-6 and get
12x-5x+3y-3y=-6-15
7x=-21
divide both sides by 7
x=-3

subsitute x=-3 for x in any equation
9x-4y=1
9(3)-4y=1
27-4y=1
-4y=-26
divide both sides by -4
y=6 and 2/4 or 6.5

x=-3
y=6.5
