Given the algebraic expression

[tex]s^3+s^2+s^{\frac{5}{4}}[/tex]

For the algebraic expression to be classified as a polynomial, all expressions must have a non-negative integer exponent.

From the given expression, we can see that the last term doesn't obey this rule (an exponent that is in fraction term).

Hence, the expression given is not a polynomial.
