Consider the following quadratic equation:

[tex]2x^2+3x-10=0[/tex]

to solve this equation, we apply the quadratic formula, to obtain the following solutions:

[tex]x=\frac{-3+\sqrt[]{89}}{4}[/tex]

and

[tex]x=\frac{-3-\sqrt[]{89}}{4}[/tex]

note that the square root of 89 is irrational then the whole number is irrational. We can conclude that the solutions of the given quadratic equation are

IRRATIONAL.
