Who was Andrew Jackson and what was his accomplishment during the War of 1812?

Andrew Jackson was the 7th president of the United States. As well as being a president, he was a solider and founded the Democratic Party. During the War of 1812, Jackson was a Major General and his biggest accomplishment then was defeating the British invaders in New Orleans, forcing the British to retreat.
