As provided in section 1021 of the Dodd- Frank Act, the purpose of the CFPB is to implement and enforce Federal consumer financial laws consistently for thepurpose of ensuring that all consumers have access to markets for consumer financial products and services and that such markets are fair, transparent, and lawful.
