Is mercutio a good influence on Romeo

Yes, because Mercutio was the one who persuaded Romeo to go to the party in the first place. He told Romeo to give love another chance. He really changed a lot of the actions and plots in the play. If Romeo didn't even go then he would have never met Juliet and nothing else would have happened.
