Two integers are 38. find the two integers if the larger is 2 less than three times the smaller

x = largest, y = smallest

x + y = 38
x = 3y - 2

3y - 2 + y = 38
4y - 2 = 38
4y = 38 + 2
4y = 40
y = 40/4
y = 10

x = 3y - 2
x = 3(10) - 2
x = 30 - 2
x = 28

ur numbers are 10 and 28
