How can you determine the total cost of an item including tax if you know the price of the item and the tax rate?

You would multiple the cost of the item by the tax rate and then add that number to the cost of the item for a total amount due. Example am it cost 1.00 and the tax rate is 7 percent. Multiple 1.00 x .07 = .07 cents for tax. Add the 1.00 + .07 = $1.07 total cost.
