First order:           10x + 4y = $246

Second order:        5x + 3y = $147 

Multiply each side of the second order by 2:

                             10x + 6y = $294

Subtract the first order from the second order:

                                0x + 2y = $ 48

Divide each side by 2:       y = $ 24 .

Plug this new knowledge into the second order:

                                 5x + 3(24) = $147

                                 5x +  72   =  $147

Subtract 72 from each side:     5x  =  $ 75

Divide each side by 5 :               x  =  $ 15
