Subtract the quantity 1/3 times 3 pounds from 3 pounds

= 3 pounds - (3 pounds * 1/3)
= 3 - (3*1)/3
= 3 - 3/3
= 3 - 1
= 2 pounds left

ANSWER: 2 pounds of apples left

Hope this helps! :)
