Simplify 5^-8* 5^4

Well your answer is 5^-8=0.00000256 * 5^4=0.0016, so your answer is 0.0016. Basically, what you do is 5x(-8) get your answer, then do 5x4, get your anser and then multiply both answer. And boom, you solved it!
